patient care technician-7 weeks (hybrid)

PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN TUITION-$899

Tuesday & Thursday 6:30pm-8:30pm

Patient Care Technicians support nurses, doctors and other medical staff in caring for patients with physical and mental health concerns. Patient Care Technicians are employed in a wide range of healthcare settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities and more.  Under the supervision of nursing staff and a larger care team, Patient Care Technicians directly support patients during hospital stays and medical visits.

The day-to-day work of a PCT could include any of the tasks expected of a CNA. In addition, PCTs may: Draw blood for lab work, operate some monitoring equipment, discontinue catheters, perform and manage wound care, remove stitches or staples, administer electrocardiograms, and other duties as allowed.

According to the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), patient care technicians (also known as nursing assistants) earn an average salary* of about $32,000, which works out to nearly $15.50 per hour. Top earners can bring home considerably more—patient care technicians in the top 25% of salaries earn nearly $37,000 per year, while salaries in the top 10% can reach $42,000 and up.
